I would wholeheartedly recommend M+R to even the most reluctant non-gamer, whereas XCOM 2 is much more a gamer's game, and a relatively niche one at that. The reason I recommend M+R over XCOM 2 is because it has much more universal appeal. The XCOM 2 Collection includes the award-winning strategy game XCOM 2, four DLC packs (Resistance Warrior Pack, Anarchys Children, Alien Hunters. Definitely go for the Gold version which has all the extra content including the Donkey Kong DLC which adds a campaign that exceeds the main one in many ways. It has a deep game system, the design is very good and it has a great sound. If you're unsure, I would recommend going with Mario+Rabbids. XCOM 2 is one of the best turn-based tactical strategy games.
